A Taste of Island Life at Otok
There's something magical about dining beneath centuries-old olive trees while the Adriatic breeze carries the scent of salt and herbs. Otok, tucked into the ground floor of Hotel Osam in charming Supetar, has quickly become one of my favorite spots on Brač.
Where Land Meets Sea
The menu here is a beautiful tribute to Croatian island cuisine, thoughtfully balancing flavors from both the land and the sea. I was absolutely enchanted by the shrimp and cherry tomato skewers, swimming in a luscious butter and lemon sauce that I shamelessly mopped up with fresh bread. The chicken thighs cooked under a brick were equally impressive—crispy-skinned and impossibly juicy, showcasing how simple techniques can yield extraordinary results.
The Perfect Setting
What elevates Otok beyond just great food is the atmosphere. The shaded outdoor terrace feels like dining in a Mediterranean garden, peaceful and intimate. I found myself lingering far longer than planned, completely relaxed under those gnarled olive branches.
Don't Miss the Rooftop
Before you leave, take the elevator up to the rooftop bar. I finished my evening there with a glass of local wine, watching the sun dip behind Supetar's terracotta rooftops and the sea turn golden. It's the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Otok is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic island flavors in an unforgettable setting.
