Brač, Croatia: Explore the Whole Island & Hidden Gems
Most people think Brač is just Zlatni Rat beach and a quick day trip from Split. That's the mistake almost everyone makes.
Brač is one of Croatia's biggest and most diverse islands — full of historic stone towns, hidden monasteries, sandy beaches, mountain sunsets, and some of the best coastal views in Dalmatia.
In this guide we explore the whole island:
🚢 Supetar – the gateway town, with a charming old town, seaside cathedral, and a stunning cemetery filled with sculptures by Ivan Rendić.
🐾 Sutivan Nature Park – a relaxed, family-friendly spot where kids can feed animals and explore.
⛵ Milna – an elegant, peaceful harbor town built around atmosphere.
⛰️ Blaca Hermitage – an isolated monastery hidden deep between the cliffs, reachable only by hiking or rough roads.
🏖️ Postira & Lovrečina Beach – a traditional seaside town next to one of Croatia's rare sandy beaches.
🏛️ Pučišća – the white-stone capital of Brač, home to the famous Stone Masonry School.
🪨 Selca – a quiet, authentic historic town (try Restaurant Ružmarin for traditional Dalmatian food).
🌊 Bol & Zlatni Rat – the island's most famous destination and its legendary shifting golden beach (Restaurant Argento for seaside dining).
🌅 Vidova Gora – the highest peak of all Croatian islands, with breathtaking sunset views over Zlatni Rat and the Adriatic.
Tip: don't try to do it all in one day. Split the trip across two days — one for the west, one for the central and eastern parts of the island.
Because Brač isn't about one attraction. It's about discovering something new around every corner — a hidden monastery, a stone village, a quiet harbor, a sandy bay, a sunset above the Adriatic.
Brač is far more than just Zlatni Rat. The famous beach is only the beginning.
