Nestled in the heart of Dubrovnik's magnificent Old Town, Restaurant Dubrovnik has become one of my absolute favorite dining spots in Croatia. I've been lucky enough to visit several times, and each experience has left me completely enchanted.
The Setting
What immediately struck me was the restaurant's elevated terrace, perched just above the busy Stradun below. While tourists bustle through the ancient streets, you're tucked away in your own peaceful oasis, surrounded by centuries of history. The elegant, refined atmosphere feels intimate without being pretentious—perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration.
The Food
The chef's commitment to local ingredients truly shines through every dish. I still dream about the scallops with soft polenta, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and porcini mushrooms—a perfect harmony of textures and flavors. And please, don't skip dessert! The puff pastry filled with figs cooked in Prošek (a beloved local sweet wine), vanilla cream, cinnamon, and almonds is simply divine.
