Pasjača Beach

Tucked beneath towering 200-foot cliffs in Croatia's far south, Pasjača Beach feels like a secret the Adriatic has been keeping. This narrow 80-meter stretch of golden sand and gravel was voted Croatia's most beautiful beach in 2019, and honestly, it lives up to the title. The turquoise water is impossibly clear thanks to its remote location far from boat traffic, and the shallow depths make it absolute paradise for swimming.

Getting here is part of the adventure. You'll need to hike down a semi-paved trail carved into the cliffside—the views alone are worth bringing your camera. There's no infrastructure at the beach, no restaurants or toilets, which means packing everything you need for the day. But that remoteness is exactly what makes Pasjača so magical. With no cell reception, you're forced to disconnect and simply soak in one of the most breathtaking coastal landscapes I've ever seen.

The beach sits just 29 kilometers south of Dubrovnik and 12 kilometers from Cavtat. Since there's no public transport, you'll need to drive, take a taxi, or—my personal favourite—arrive by boat and swim straight up to shore. Visit early morning or late afternoon to beat the crowds and the heat, ideally in June or September when the water is still warm but the path down isn't scorching.
