Okrug Gornji Beaches Near Trogir, Croatia

Just a few minutes away of Trogir, a UNESCO-protected old town, lies one of the most popular beach destinations in all of Central Dalmatia.

Okrug Gornji.

Located on the island of Čiovo and connected to Trogir by a bridge, this beach has become a favorite summer destination for both tourists and locals looking for crystal-clear water, and easy access from the mainland.

One of the biggest advantages here - you can spend the morning exploring historic Trogir, wandering through its medieval streets, climbing the bell tower, or enjoying the waterfront promenade. And then, within minutes, you can be swimming in the Adriatic.

The main beach is called Copacabana Beach.

Stretching for about a kilometer along the coastline, this is one of the longest and most developed beaches on the island.

The water is shallow, clear, and perfect for swimming, making it especially popular with families.

Along the promenade you'll find cafés, beach bars, restaurants, ice cream stands, water sports, and plenty of places to relax while enjoying views across the Adriatic.

If you're looking for a classic Croatian beach day with everything close at hand, this is exactly where you'll want to be.

And if you continue exploring the island of Čiovo, you'll find even more beautiful places nearby.

The beaches around Slatine offer a more relaxed atmosphere and fewer crowds.

On the southern side of the island, Labadusa Beach attracts visitors with its crystal-clear water and more natural surroundings.

For history, hop the water taxi to Trogir's Old Town — a UNESCO gem of medieval stone streets, a soaring cathedral bell tower, and a fortress right on the sea.

And for those willing to explore a little further, the dramatic cliffs surrounding Prizidnica Church reveal some of the most impressive coastal scenery anywhere on Čiovo.

There is one thing you should know before visiting, though.

During July and August, this beach becomes extremely popular.

Parking can be difficult, traffic often slows down significantly, and the beach can get very crowded during the middle of the day.

That's why many visitors prefer arriving early in the morning or staying later into the evening when the atmosphere becomes much more relaxed.

Okrug Gornji is one of the easiest ways to experience the very best of Dalmatia - historic towns, island scenery, crystal-clear water, and long summer days by the sea, all in one place.
