🏰 Discover the ancient fortress of Čačvina, dramatically perched on a hilltop northeast of Trilj in the heart of Dalmatia. First mentioned in historical records in 1371 A.D., this impressive stronghold belonged to the powerful dukes Nelipić until the early 15th century.
Throughout centuries, Čačvina witnessed turbulent times — falling into Ottoman hands at the end of the 17th century before passing to Venetian rule in the early 18th century. Its strategic position served a vital purpose: monitoring one of the most important routes leading through the interior of Dalmatia.
